Crumbs are never enough!
Today, I highlight the chapter written by Katherine A. Shaner, a professor of New Testament at Wake Forest University School of Divinity: "Crumbs are Never Enough: Decentering the White Supremacist Jesus," in my edited volume, At the Intersection of Hermeneutics and Homiletics. Analyzing the narrative from a feminist rhetorical perspective, Shaner reveals how Matthew’s story perpetuates the logic of supremacist ideology, while honoring the wholeness and transformative power of the Canaanite woman and her community. #gospelofmatthew #feminist #rhetorical #hermeneutics #homiletics
